p>When you hear loud raucous laughter somewhere in the near vicinity, without a doubt you should know it is none other than Avakash Mahanta. With his funny side always on display, the guy knows one thing for sure, that he can entertain. And this ability of his is what made him take the path of acting –‘to entertain’, always. Funny, witty and always ready to laugh, Avakash has been showing off his acting abilities since his school days.
He came to know about the Samahaara theater festival through a friend and decided to volunteer and has been associated with them ever since. Within a span of those two years, he has performed for two plays, one of which is LAST WISH BABY (performed 8 times already), acted in three short films, and featured in an ad film. He also put his voice skills to use by lending it for dubbing for the Hindi version of the film EEGA.
A mass journalism student at St.Mary’s, Yousufguda, he finds it comfortable to work with Samahaara and has learnt a lot from the workshops conducted by them. He believes that it is their guidance and the exposure he has gained while working with them, which has made it possible for him to take his acting and entertaining skills to a new level.
His take on what it means to be a Samahaarian – “I’m a Samahaarian because I love having fun. And I find acting to be fun.”
