Akanksha Dev for Blood Song

I’m playing the character, Moon, who in the play Blood Song personifies blood-thirst, selfishness, sadistic pleasure, etc. She’s evil. She wants everyone to die, so that she could go around and feed on their blood. The Moons and the Beggar women both, make the story happen, and they just LOVE how it ends so tragically!
It’s weirdly fun, playing the Moon. The moon is like a child who is very evil, and it’s really interesting to convey this contrast in her personality.  We’re basically monsters, who are very pretty, very graceful and charming, I guess. I am not sure about the charming part, but we may be. That’s what we think. Haha.
I really love theatre, and I never thought I would ever get such a wonderful opportunity as working with this AMAZING director – David Zinder.  There’s so much I’ve learnt from him about theatre. I feel real lucky to have worked with him. It’s such an experience! Working with him has made me more creative and imaginative right from day one. For him it’s always variety . I realised myself turning into another person, very gradually. It made me see myself differently. It feels lovely. Working with him, brought about changes in my way of thinking and my way of working. Working with David sir is such an honour.
I’ve just come to tenth grade and yes, I’m 15, and the youngest in the Blood Song team. I am into performing arts, and I really want to make it a career path. I call myself a right-brained person because I DO NOT, whatsoever, dig into the science stuff. And, I would really like to think myself as a creative freak. I draw, I dance and I act. Those are the things I LOVEE to do. Art always has to keep revolving around me. It’s like the moon around the earth. It just HAS to be there. I love reading. It’s like another thing that keeps me going. I love taking pictures. Photography. Musiccc!
