Thank You, Actors

Batch after batch of the Samahaara Weekend Theatre Workshop has been going on successfully, getting more and more creative, crazy, interesting, intense, fresh, artistic people of all age groups into Team Samahaara.

The 8 weekend workshop that we started last January has crossed one year and in it’s eigth batch already. Then there was this one intense weekend of Advanced Theatre Workshop – beyond the basics. Meanwhile, the Film Acting Workshop is now in it’s third batch, training dedicated acting students for the screen specifically.

We recognize the need for trained actors, why it’s necessary to train actors and how much trained actors contribute to a good production. Understanding the medium, be it cinema or theatre, whether you want a fun weekend workshop that’s a one-time thing to try and check it off a bucket list or a career path that you’ve chosen, we feel that the training is the first and most crucial step in arts. Whether it’s singing or dancing, some kind of training is considered essential by the general populace. However, the same courtesy and respect is not often extended to the most intense of all arts combined, theatre. Specifically, acting, as theatre is an actor’s medium. That is the respect that we have for theatre and actors in general and we treat it as such. We want to take a moment to thank each and every participant and student, many of whom have gone on to work in our professional productions soon after – all 150 odd members that have been introduced to theatre and film acting through Samahaara in the last 1 year. Thank you for making Samahaara one of the most active theatre groups in India. Thank you for your interest in theatre and your Respect for Acting.
